Municipal Court Warrants in Sevier County
Sevier County's verified court map does not support the assumption that each city operates a separate warrant court. District Court handles traffic, misdemeanors, ordinance violations, and preliminary felony matters. The official plan identifies a DeQueen Department and names De Queen, Gillham, Horatio, and Lockesburg in its criminal and traffic coverage.
A city-linked FTA or bench warrant remains court process. FTA means failure to appear. The sources also use bench warrant and alias bench warrant. “Capias pro fine” was not verified as local Sevier language, so anyone seeing “capias” should repeat the exact wording to the clerk and ask what it means in that case.
De Queen Cases Use District Court
A court-consolidation plan says De Queen city cases are filed and heard in the De Queen District Court department. That is more reliable than sending a resident to City Hall merely because “De Queen” appears on a ticket. The Arkansas Judiciary directory identifies District Judge Manya Wood and Chief Clerk Tracy Miner for Sevier District Court.
The court is at 115 North 3rd Street, Room 215, in De Queen, with a published phone of 870-584-7311. Call first. Ask whether the case belongs to the DeQueen Department, what event the docket shows, and what the judge requires.
Which Sevier County Cities Have Court Coverage
The official plan supplies a city-coverage map, not proof of four independent municipal courts. De Queen city cases are expressly consolidated in the DeQueen Department. Current city-specific warrant portals were not found for the other places.
| City | Court | What It Handles |
|---|---|---|
| De Queen | Sevier District Court, DeQueen Department | City cases, traffic, misdemeanors, and ordinances |
| Horatio | Named in Sevier District Court plan | Confirm current filing route with District Court |
| Lockesburg | Named in Sevier District Court plan | City Hall is a routing contact, not a verified warrant clerk |
| Gillham | Named in Sevier District Court plan | No current local warrant portal verified |
A City Name Is Not a Court
The city printed on a ticket can mark where an event occurred, which police agency acted, or which local matter began the case. It does not by itself identify the record custodian. A County Clerk is also not the criminal warrant clerk. Sevier County Clerk Renea Bailey handles county and probate administration, while the District Court Clerk handles District Court files.
Read the line labeled court, department, or appearance location. If it is unclear, call District Court and ask where the case was filed. This prevents wasted trips and payments sent to an office without power to recall the warrant.
How to Check a Sevier Municipal Warrant
No city or county public warrant roster was verified. Use the citation, District Court, public docket, and sheriff as distinct channels. Gather the full name, birth date, citation or case number, city, and scheduled date before calling.
- For a known ticket, query Arkansas Citation Payments by court, name, and citation number or ID plus birth date.
- Search CourtConnect for the case and event text.
- Call Sevier District Court at 870-584-7311. Use city police or City Hall only to identify the proper court route.
- Call the Sevier County Sheriff at 870-642-6100 for service or surrender instructions after court confirmation.
No Sevier City Warrant Roster
No official current warrant page was found for De Queen, Horatio, Lockesburg, Gillham, or Grannis. The sheriff app did not expose a public Arkansas Sevier warrant table. Its inmate route concerns people already shown in custody, not unserved city-court process.
An empty search therefore cannot clear a municipal warrant. A matter may be recent, sealed, restricted, indexed under different details, or housed in another court. Ask the court holding the case and confirm with the sheriff when service is at issue.
Key distinction: Not appearing on the sheriff app or CourtConnect is not official confirmation that no municipal warrant exists.
What a Sevier Municipal Warrant Shows
A public case record may show the case and citation number, filing date, court department, participant roles, offense, warrant event, orders, and disposition. The signed warrant or protected material may not be visible online. No local municipal cause-number pattern was verified.
| Case or citation | The official identifier, shown here as case number. |
|---|---|
| Offense | Traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, or related FTA entry. |
| Court | The department with authority over the case. |
| Amount or bond | Case-specific data only; no general Sevier schedule was verified. |
| Status | Issued, served, or recalled event text that needs current confirmation. |
Sevier City and Sheriff Roles
The Sevier County Sheriff states that its service area includes unincorporated county areas and De Queen, Horatio, and Lockesburg. Court Services is a named division. The page does not publish a city-warrant roster, separate warrant desk, or surrender schedule. No official constable or city-marshal warrant roster was located.
De Queen Police provides around-the-clock patrol and a general information line at 870-642-2213. That line can help route a city question, but police do not replace the court clerk or recall order. Lockesburg City Hall likewise provides municipal contact information but no warrant portal.
Resolving a Sevier Municipal Court Warrant
The issuing court controls resolution. It may require an appearance, motion, payment, bond action, or counsel. Paying a ticket does not automatically prove recall of an existing warrant. No Sevier online recall form, universal walk-in process, fixed bond schedule, or current amnesty event was verified.
- Confirm the court, case, warrant status, and required response.
- Ask whether payment, a new setting, motion, bond, or attorney is needed.
- Get the authorized time and place before appearing.
- After acting, confirm that the court entered recall and ask about any separate license consequence.
Warning: Only the issuing court can confirm recall; payment or a call to law enforcement is not a substitute for that order.
Sevier Municipal Record Access
Arkansas CourtConnect is a case and docket search, not a complete live warrant register. Search by participant or case number and use filters, then verify. Arkansas FOIA directs a requester to the public office holding the record. For District Court files, start with that clerk rather than the County Clerk.
Sealed papers, active investigative records, protected identifiers, and juvenile files may be restricted. Ask for segregable public parts. A withheld document is an access result, not proof that a warrant is active or inactive.
The official Census source used for Sevier's city selection is shown in this incorporated-place table capture.

The table explains which places were reviewed; it does not establish a court or warrant portal.
Federal Warrants Use Another Route
A city case is not federal merely because service crosses a boundary. Sevier County belongs to the Western District of Arkansas, Texarkana Division, for federal court purposes. PACER is the federal docket entry point, while CourtConnect and Sevier clerks cover Arkansas state and local cases.
The official PACER entry page appears in the following capture.

This source marks the separate federal route and should not be used to clear a municipal case.
Ask Before Traveling in Sevier
Before going to a court, City Hall, police department, or sheriff office, confirm the case number, court, current warrant event, required appearance, location, and office hours. Ask whether the judge must be present and whether counsel may act first. A clerk can explain docket procedure but cannot give legal advice. An attorney can assess the risks of appearing and whether a motion is suitable.
Do not assume that the city printed on a notice is the place where payment or recall occurs. De Queen matters may be filed and heard in the District Court department. Lockesburg has an official City Hall contact but no verified warrant interface. Horatio and Gillham contact evidence was limited or dated, and Grannis has a municipal site without a warrant portal. Current District Court confirmation is safer than an old local contact.
Write down the response and the employee's office, then verify again after any payment, appearance, or order. If there is immediate danger, call 911. Routine warrant-status questions should use court and sheriff channels.
Sevier Municipal Status Terms
Short docket labels can change the meaning of a search result. Use the exact words when speaking with the clerk. Do not merge an FTA, alias bench warrant, arrest warrant, and license consequence into one generic status.
- FTA warrant
- Process tied to failure to appear for a required setting.
- Alias bench warrant
- The term used in an official Arkansas bond and surety form after findings about a missed appearance.
- Recall
- A court action withdrawing its warrant.
- Served
- An event indicating law enforcement executed the process.
A payment receipt is not one of these status terms. Ask for the later docket event or court confirmation that states what happened to the warrant.
Confirm Sevier Municipal Warrant Changes
After an appearance, payment, motion, or bond action, ask the District Court for the resulting docket entry or order. Record when it was entered and whether law enforcement received the update. A pending request does not have the same effect as a signed recall order.
If CourtConnect and the clerk give different impressions, rely on the court's current official response and ask how the public docket will be corrected or updated. Keep receipts and copies. Direct confirmation protects against both a stale issued event and a mistaken claim that payment alone ended the process.
